Orrin Makes Fun of Dog's Tragic Death; More Examples of Facts Processed Through Orrin's Ideology

Our Dear Orrin writes today about the tragic death of a dog killed by a NYC street sweeper.

What a leashed dog on a City street tragically killed by an automated street sweeper has to do with Off-leash Hours Policy in NYC Parks is beyond any rational person's thought process. But as we all know by now our ideologically driven Dear Orrin is completely nonsensical and illogical when it comes to dogs and Off-leash Hours policy.

But instead of Orrin's usual shameful and vile racism against African Americans, in his latest post, Orrin makes fun of this dog's tragic death by calling it a "Clean Sweep." Another vile and repugnant low for our hero. Orrin, don't you know that G-d hates a coward?

A WITNESS verified that the dog was leashed when killed. The owner had properly curbed the dog. Obviously, the street cleaner operator did not see the dog and a trajic accident resulted.

You are right- this has nothing to do with off-leash. And CREDO's incredibly cruelty in its commentary and distortion of the facts does speak worlds about the "character" of Orrin Tilevitz, the creator and operator of CREDO.

He probably attended funerals for WTC victims and blamed them for being at the center on 9/11. No humanity at all.

Disgusting in fact.

I just read all the entire New York Magazine article plus all the posted comments (unlike CREDO, they do not censor).

Seems to me that more than 75% of the comments were about bicyclists riding too fast or not obeying traffic rules.

Yes, some dog owners foolishly walk their dogs across the roads off leash. In one of the comments, the head of NYCDOG actually chastised those few who do not pay attention when in the park. So obviously dog groups are trying to sell police and are not painting a totally rosy picture.

CREDO is distorting things by selectively posting abstracts of articles and by misinterpreting things.

Folks,

I think we're giving this freak way too much attention. Without our compulsive clicks over to his blog he'd have no significance at all. In fact, I'd guess we're likely to be his closest friends.

Seriously, this guy is supposedly COUNTING pedestrians and bicyclists, then classifying them racially and making even grander and more grave assumptions and assertions. I don't think I'm being facetious or hyperbolic for the sake of online gamesmanship when I propose that he is truly nuts. Labeling him a misanthrope would be generous. His screeds are evidence of a sociopath - or at very least, a sad, lonely, very angry nerd.
Again, I'll remind that his visitor count shows less hits since it's inception 6 months ago than my wife's blog gets in a week.

I wish I could agree with you about ignoring CREDO. I do agree with your analysis of his site, however.

Sometimes ignorning crazies does work and it is a difficult decision, but, sadly, history teaches us that ignoring those who would violate others allows them to grow in strength.

I am reminded of Pastor Niemoller's poem:

"When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out."

Orrin is dangerous because of his delusional thinking, racism, inferrences, and outright lies. We must speak up so that those who might be intimidated by him will find strength to resist.

Public officials often can be swayed by the rantings of a few.

Besides, his blog does not produce income so the number of views is insignificant. And all but 1 or 2 other blogs or websites have ignored him; seeing him as a loon (then again, he is a bird watcher and loons are birds).

Geez. Well, I certainly understand your viewpoint but very much hope you're wrong.
Of course, I know the poem you quoted, but the difference here is that Orrin hasn't the cunning or charisma of a successful tyrant. He's pretty much a sad and crippled army of one.
I guess among some birders he has sway. I do know of the pinched "Prospect park Advocate" blog. But there's even less action there.
They and Credo certainly have a lot of broken blood vessels and vitriol in common.
The irony is that this vitriol is even more inconsequential since the Off Leash rules were confirmed and codified last year.
I don't yet think we'd be turning a blind eye on a danger. I think we'd be ignoring an inconsequential gnat that only thrives on our attention.

Orrin and the so-called "Prospect Park Advocate" (aka failed off-leash rejectionist #2) are good buddies in the failed jihad to kill off-leash hours policy.

Both turned up at the final Parks public hearing to consider codification of the Off-leash rules. Both have been in close email correspondence with the other off-leash rejectionists in Queens who failed with their lawsuit in 2006.

All three of these parties constantly harass our elected and appointed officials--most noticably now at the DOPR and the Prospect Park Alliance, and will continue their failed holy war.

IMHO, it's very important that every single one of their lies, willful misrepresentations and half-truths are called out loud and clear. It's very important that their innane logic, racism, and lack of consideration for their fellow park patrons is well documented in case others come across this long fought right to use the parks at designated times and designated areas is again called into question.

It's very important that we remember that we almost lost the Off-leash Hours policy in 2006. Thankfully their jihad backfired on the rejectionists and much to their chagrin, it's stronger than ever and codified. But we must remain vigilent.

There's nothing more the off-leash rejectionists would like than for the public to forget their insanity, racism, and failures. It's important that recent history is remembered and their "arguments" systematically debunked and refuted.

I too would love to ignore them. However when the Juniper Park Civic started their rantings about attacks in the park and people being harassed we dog owners ignored them knowing they were speaking lies. However other people did not realize they were lies and before I knew it they had quite a group of people believing every word that they spoke.

It took a long time to get the public opinion on our side but I think for the most part it has been done. It would have been alot easier if we had spoken up when they first started their smear campaign.

I have to agree with Anonymous to this day they call in complaints to the Parks dept. Every minor infraction is recorded & reported.
They are the reason we do not have a dog park in Juniper. The DOPR has so many complaints and the dogs are only there a few hours a day that they are fearful of the # of complaints they would receive if dogs were there all day.

Bad people win, when good people say & do nothing.

These are bad people.

IMHO!

Sigh. Yeah, what can I say? You're all correct.

I just resent having to even grant the attention.

But, it's a slippery slope. I absolutely agree we must keep our eyes and ears open.

Thanks again!
